First Post – Due by Sunday, May 15th 11:59pm

What a relief! Blogger is FINALLY working again! Now it is time to get to work…

First, I want to thank you for being patient with me when I was not so patient on Friday. You can never rely on technology 100%. Lesson learned! However, Period 7 did have the privilege of creating their Blog accounts in class. Therefore, I should have everyone's URL already. If not, check the Blog List for Period 7 (it’s on the right side of my Blog and you must scroll down) and if your Blog name/URL is not there, then please email me.

Also, don’t forget to check the last post I wrote (Welcome Class of 2013) for your comment. If your comment was deleted, then please leave me another one.

Now on to your first post…

You can begin your first post by introducing yourself and stating what you have liked the most about our English class this year. Then, I want you to do some research on the author of A Doll's House. Therefore, you need to provide us with some facts on Henrik Ibsen. Explain how you think the title of the play relates to what the play may be about or how it may even relate to the author. This can be done in about two paragraphs. Remember, you MUST use proper grammar and don't forget to use punctuation. Therefore, you may want to type this into Microsoft Word and then just copy and paste. Blogger also has a spell check option if you choose to not use Microsoft Word. Please cite your information because if you do not, then it is plagiarism and you will not receive credit for your work. Simply including the link(s) at the end of your post will do. Also, you are not copying and pasting the information you find. You are paraphrasing!

Want to get creative? Add some pictures and even videos. Just remember that it must be relevant to what you are writing about/dicussing.

We will begin reading the play on Monday.

Have fun! :)

  6. Hey Ms. Santos! I was able to find out Henrik Gibsen. He is considered the starting point for modern drama. One of his famous plays was The Doll House. He is known as the "Father of Realism." He didn't write plays about women. His play Ghosts deals with issues that were highly scandalous. In ADoll's Housethere are many minor and major characters. The settings were Helmer's apartment, Torvald's study. It starts on Christmas Eve. Some symbols are a black hat and cross, fisher girl's costume, Italy,Norway, toys,a Christmas tree, stockings, letter box and letter, a ring, embroidery, and skylank. The style is typical. I can't wait to read this in class.

  12. Hey Miss Santos!! I got some info on Henrik Ibsen. He was a Norwegian playwrite who was otherwise known as the Father of Modern Drama". In 1867 he wrote Peer Gynt. In 1899 he wrote We Dead Awaken. It was in the middle of he career that he wrote A Dolls House, in the year 1879. There! That's my post. I can ONLY hope it's not too much information. See Ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. I think that the story so far is pretty good. The character that I take the role of, Torvald, is so cheap! He seems to really not like giving money out to people. Nora's character is the exact opposite. She is happy and bubbly and seems to mask her problems by acting childish. The tension is starting to pick up. With what we read today, I think the story is going to get pretty interesting.
